March Insights from Connect 2 Cleanrooms & Cleanroomshop

Welcome to Connect 2 Cleanrooms and Cleanroomshop’s March update.

This month, we have a lot of things to share with you, including some sector insights, charity events, expert-led content, and tools to help you stay compliant and make informed decisions for your controlled environment.

Here’s what’s been happening this March👇

Charity events

Supporting our community and celebrating International Women’s Day

Our Managing Director, Nicola Coull, shared her thoughts on the women who shape our business and the wider industry. We also partnered with Lancashire Women, an organisation dedicated to support women’s wellbeing. We’re thrilled to have raised donations and collections across the team to support their important work.

We’ve also donated PPE and consumables to two animal non-profits in Lancashire, helping them maintain a hygienic environment for animal care and allowing them to do their work effectively.

Space-Comm Expo Europe 2026

We exhibited at Space-Comm Expo Europe at Excel, London this month. This event is one of the most important in the UK for the space sector, bringing together businesses and industry experts that work on new ideas and established technologies.

It was great to connect with organisations that are making strides across the aerospace sector, many of which need precision-controlled environments to support crucial manufacturing and research. Having these conversations shows us how important cleanrooms are across different sector.

We’ll also be attending Making Pharmaceuticals in April and Interplas in June.

Sector spotlight: Aerospace

The aerospace sector plays a critical role in global infrastructure, supporting transportation, defence, communications, and scientific discovery. As innovation continues to accelerate, so does the need for highly controlled environments that can support precision manufacturing and assembly processes.

Whether we work with start-ups or established organisations, cleanrooms provide the level of cleanliness, compliance and consistency required for critical applications. From astrophysics research to manufacturing satellite components, controlled environments are essential for maintaining quality and performance.

Our team supports aerospace organisations with cleanroom solutions designed to meet their exacting standards and operational demands.

Tacky mats: Dos and Don'ts

Tacky mats are a simple and cost-effective contamination control solution, capable of capturing up to 99% of foot-borne contaminants before they enter your cleanroom. However, their effectiveness relies heavily on correct usage.

When used incorrectly, tacky mats can introduce risks rather than reduce them, leading to contamination issues or even health and safety concerns within your controlled environment. Common mistakes often go unnoticed but can have a significant impact on overall cleanroom performance.

We’ve outlined the most frequent errors and practical steps you can take to ensure your tacky mats are working as intended, helping you maintain a cleaner, safer space.

Guest blog: Cleanroom donning mistakes

Our Training and Development Lead, Laura Clarke, has shared her expertise on the most common donning errors and how they can compromise your operations.

It’s a useful resource for both new operators and experienced teams looking to refine their processes and reinforce best practice.
