The client
Assured Cleaning Services are a leading commercial cleaning company operating throughout the North-West of England. Offering day-to-day cleaning of offices, factories, warehouses, schools, and gyms, Assured Cleaning Services also provide decontamination services to select cleanrooms, helping these clients remain compliant and maintain high levels of product integrity.
As demand for their cleanroom and controlled environment decontamination services continued to grow, Assured Cleaning Services approached Connect 2 Cleanrooms for ISO cleanroom training following their attendance at the Meet the Supplier: Open Day in May. This was to upskill their team and ensure everyone was aligned on cleanroom protocols, best practices, and the impacts of cleaning and disinfection regimes.
Understanding cleanroom decontamination principles
Cleanrooms require stringent protocols and methodical decontamination approaches to protect sensitive applications and product quality. It’s not only important for cleanroom operators to understand what they need to do in relation to contamination control, but also why they need to do it. Contamination within a cleanroom can lead to devastating consequences, significantly impacting both cleanroom personnel and end-users, as well as potentially leading to site downtime, financial loss, or legal ramifications.
Unlike other commercial environments including offices, gyms, or warehouses, cleanrooms require specialist equipment, cleaning agents, and procedures to ensure contamination and particulates are effectively and routinely removed from the environment.
Assured Cleaning Services recognised that both the what and the why are crucial in order for their team to deliver effective and compliant cleaning services for their cleanroom clients, and chose the ISO cleanroom training at Connect 2 Cleanrooms to give their team the knowledge, skills, and confidence when entering and decontaminating a controlled environment.
The ISO cleanroom training session
Delivered by our learning & development specialists at our training hub in Halton, the ISO cleanroom training session blended theory and current guidance with practical demonstrations and real-world examples, really highlighting the what and the why of cleanroom management and decontamination.
The session covered core principles of the ISO 14644 standard, including:
- Hand hygiene
- Gowning
- Materials transfer
- Surface cleaning
- Cleanroom standards
- Consequences and impacts of contamination
As Assured Cleaning Services will be working with a range of businesses with varying cleanroom classifications and SOPs, they wanted to cover as much information as possible to give their team a broad understanding of cleanroom protocols.
With this in mind, we adapted our training course to incorporate elements of EU GMP guidelines and best practices, including rotational cleaning. This tailored approach enables Assured Cleaning Services to continue to meet and exceed customer expectations while delivering expert decontamination services.
Assured Cleaning Services testimonial
“As our cleanroom and regulated environment services continue to grow, it was important for us to invest in training that would strengthen our team’s knowledge and understanding of contamination control principles and cleanroom best practice.
The ISO Cleanroom Training delivered by Connect 2 Cleanrooms was informative, engaging, and highly relevant to the environments in which we operate. The combination of theory, practical demonstrations, and real-world examples helped bring the subject matter to life, providing valuable insight into both the ‘what’ and the ‘why’ behind cleanroom protocols.
A cross-section of our business attended the session, including members of our leadership team, area managers, supervisors, and specialist cleaning operatives. This ensured a consistent understanding across all levels of the organisation and reinforced our commitment to delivering best-in-class decontamination and cleaning services within cleanrooms and other regulated environments.
The training has given our team greater confidence when working within controlled environments and will play an important role in supporting our continued growth in the life sciences, healthcare, and advanced manufacturing sectors. We would highly recommend Connect 2 Cleanrooms to any organisation looking to develop practical cleanroom knowledge and strengthen their contamination control culture.”
