April Insights from Connect 2 Cleanrooms & Cleanroomshop

Welcome to Connect 2 Cleanrooms and Cleanroomshop’s April update.

This month, we’re sharing the latest from across our cleanroom solutions, product ranges, events, and expert-led content.

Here’s what’s been happening this April 👇

6 Reasons You Need a Predesigned Cleanroom

When speed, compliance, and convenience matter, a predesigned cleanroom can offer a practical route to controlled-environment installation.

With more than 20 years working with businesses worldwide on cleanroom projects, we’ve developed a ready-to-ship cleanroom solution that supports performance, quality, and fast delivery.

Ideal for a wide range of applications, including electronics manufacturing, injection moulding, R&D environments, and more, our predesigned cleanrooms are built to make the process simpler. Whether you’re expanding an existing facility or introducing a new controlled environment, we’ve outlined six reasons to consider a predesigned cleanroom for your next project.

Non-sterile solutions from Ecolab

Cleanroomshop has added new non-sterile solutions from Ecolab to its product range.

Designed for versatility and easy application, the new range delivers high performance while supporting quality and compliance. The ready-to-use formula is blended with purified water, helping provide safe, consistent, and convenient application across suitable cleanroom environments.

These solutions are ideal for GMP grade D cleanroom environments with strict particle and microbial control requirements, without the additional costs often associated with sterile cleanroom consumables.

Making Pharmaceuticals

The Connect 2 Cleanrooms and Cleanroomshop team exhibited at Making Pharmaceuticals at the Coventry Building Society Arena this month.

The event brought together suppliers, manufacturers, service providers, and technical teams from across the pharmaceutical sector, with Distributing Pharmaceuticals and Making Nutraceuticals taking place alongside it.

For our team, it was a useful couple of days speaking with people about live projects, cleanroom requirements, and the practical challenges they are working through. Pharmaceutical facilities require controlled environments that can support strict processes, product quality, and day-to-day efficiency, so it was valuable to have those conversations face-to-face.

The UK wet wipe ban

The UK government has announced plans to phase out plastic-containing wet wipes as part of wider efforts to reduce microplastic pollution and protect human health.

For cleanroom facilities, the situation is not always straightforward. Presaturated wipes are used in critical environments for a reason. They need to be durable, reliable, and suitable for controlled processes where cleanliness and compliance cannot be left to chance.

Our latest blog looks at what the wet wipe ban could mean for cleanroom users, including the new rules around supply and use, and why specialist applications may need careful consideration before any changes are made.

Guest blog: Cleaning vs Disinfection

Cleaning and disinfection are often talked about together, but they’re not the same process.

Our Training and Development Lead, Laura Clarke, has written a new article explaining the difference between the two and why that distinction matters in a cleanroom.
