June Insights from Connect 2 Cleanrooms & Cleanroomshop
Welcome to June’s edition of Insights from Connect 2 Cleanrooms and Cleanroomshop!
As we reach the halfway point of the year, it feels like a good opportunity to look back at what’s happened so far. From projects delivered across Europe and at industry events to training, website improvements, and product development, it’s been a busy six months. We’ve also spent time speaking with manufacturers at Interplas 2026, put our own marketing team to the test with a cleanroom build challenge, and highlighted some practical guidance around monitoring and maintaining controlled environments.
Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to 👇
Half-year review
As we’re already halfway through the year, we thought it was a good time to pause and look back at some of the projects, developments, and milestones that have shaped the last six months.
Here’s a roundup of what we’ve been working on:
Making cleanroom management simpler:
Earlier this year, we refined our service offering to focus on predesigned cleanroom solutions and consumables, helping clients access practical, straightforward cleanroom management without unnecessary complexity.
Cleanroom solutions across Europe
We’ve supplied and dispatched 24 predesigned cleanrooms and laminar flow cabinets to organisations in the UK, Germany, Finland, Sweden, and Spain, supporting a wide range of manufacturing and research applications.
Growing our predesigned range
Our softwall cleanroom range has expanded with additional sizes, giving customers more flexibility when selecting a solution that fits their available space and operational requirements.
Supporting charities and community initiatives
We’ve continued supporting charitable causes through activities linked to International Women’s Day, Mental Health Awareness Week, and donations to local animal welfare organisations.
Industry events
We’ve attended three exhibitions this year, including Space-Comm Expo Europe, Making Pharmaceuticals, and Interplas 2026, alongside hosting our first supplier open day at Connect 2 Cleanrooms.
Website optimisations
Over the last six months, we’ve introduced new video resources to our Content Library, improved page layouts, and launched a new supplier and brand directory on Cleanroomshop.
Tree planting
As part of our ongoing sustainability commitment, we’ve planted 110 trees this year. Together, they’ll remove an estimated 1,356kg of CO₂ from the atmosphere annually.
ISO cleanroom training
Our training team has delivered four ISO cleanroom training sessions so far this year, helping operators better understand contamination control principles, standards, and best practice.
Plastics sector spotlight
Earlier this month, we attended Interplas 2026 at the NEC to speak with manufacturers and suppliers working across the plastics sector.
One theme that came up repeatedly was contamination control. Plastics manufacturing can generate significant particulate contamination, posing challenges when producing sensitive products or components. This is important in medical device manufacturing, where items such as catheters, implants, surgical instruments, and drug delivery systems often need to be produced within controlled environments to maintain quality and support patient safety.
Interplas 2026 gave us the chance to better understand how businesses are approaching these challenges and the growing role cleanrooms continue to play in supporting modern plastics production.
Can the marketing team build a laminar flow cabinet?
We often describe our cleanroom solutions as straightforward to assemble, and we decided to put that to the test.
With no help from installation engineers, the marketing team challenged themselves to build a laminar flow cabinet using only the same instructions our customers receive. Whether they found it quite as easy as expected is something you’ll have to judge for yourself.

Why particle monitoring and calibration matter
Particle counters remain one of the most useful tools for understanding what is happening inside a controlled environment. They’re used for routine monitoring, cleanroom validation, contamination investigations, and identifying areas where processes may need attention.
We work closely with Particles Plus® to provide a range of particle counters designed to simplify monitoring and reporting. It’s also important to ensure those instruments remain accurate.
Regular calibration helps maintain confidence in the data collected and is recommended by manufacturers and regulatory bodies alike. For many facilities, we recommend annual calibrations to provide reassurance that monitoring programmes are delivering reliable results when they’re needed most.
New from DuPont™: Tyvek® APX™ 400 coveralls
Cleanroom garments need to strike a balance between protection and comfort, particularly for operators wearing them for long periods.
The latest addition to the range, the DuPont™ Tyvek® APX™ 400 hooded coverall, has been developed with that in mind. Using updated Tyvek® fabric technology, it offers a lightweight and breathable alternative while maintaining the durability and barrier protection expected in demanding environments.
For businesses looking to review or update their PPE, it’s a useful option to consider, especially where operator comfort can have an impact on productivity and compliance.
The importance of cleanroom cleaning scheduled
Our Training and Development Lead, Laura Clarke, recently shared her thoughts on finding the right balance between carrying out essential cleanroom activities and recording them properly.
Her latest article explores how organisations can maintain effective cleaning programmes without becoming overly focused on administration at the expense of practical contamination control.
